I'm Bored...

So my Halloween costume isn't as slutty as last year's Buzz Lightyear costume.. but I'm still going to be slightly sexy. I'm going to have a sleeveless shirt on so I'm going to need my arms to look good. So I was just working out my biceps right now...

And then I got bored so I opened Photo Booth and took a pic :P Enjoy.

Exercising

I really need to get back into an exercise routine. I'm getting really disappointed (and almost disgusted) at the way I look right now. I keep thinking to last summer when I had such a nice body. And even then, I felt like I could improve tons. But now... it's just gotten out of hand. And so I really need to find a good workout program that I will enjoy doing and that will work. Last summer, I had P90X. And that was AWESOME. It really works. But no matter how hard I try to start that again (and I've tried multiple times now), I just can't. It's OLD to me. Same thing over and over. I just can't seem to stick with it like I did when I first went on it.

Well, I found this program called the "T-Shirt Body Program" in Muscle & Fitness magazine. They're workout exercises designed to make your body look good in a normal, everyday t-shirt. Sounds pretty cool, right? I mean, I'm not going to be walking around shirtless all the time... so looking good while in a t-shirt would be ideal. It's a pretty intense workout though. Lots of barbell and dumbbell work. I've actually never worked out with a barbell before so it was a new experience for me. Chest Presses are a LOT harder than I thought they would be. lol.

I hope to at least stick with this for a month. And I need to really think about increasing my cardio workouts. I stay active through my job... but after a year of doing the same thing, I'm afraid my body has adapted to it and I'm not burning as many calories as I should be. And all the excess fat is showing up as a spare tire around my stomach. :( I need to get rid of that ASAP. I'm going on vacation in the first week of June and I need to look GOOD. (I'll blog more about that real soon)

So wish me luck on my new workout endeavors. And I hope this finds everyone well. BTW, to all of you who may still read my little blog... write me a comment and say HI. Would love to hear from all of you :)

P90X

So I didn't want to blog about this until I knew I was committed and showing results. And since it's a "yes" for both, I'm going to tell you about it.

Has anyone seen those infomercials for "P90X" on TV? It's a workout program that guarantees awesome results in 90 days! Here's a LINK to the website. Basically they have a ~60 minute workout routine each day of the week on 12 different DVDs. There's a schedule that you follow that tells you which DVD to use on each day. Each DVD targets a different part of the body. There's "Chest & Arms," "Shoulders & Arms," "Legs & Back," "Yoga," "Abs," and etc. And let me tell you, each one really works you out! I'm really loving it. It's a love-hate thing actually. I hate it cuz it's hard, challenging. But I love it because it really works out my body. And OMG, the Yoga is AMAZING. I've never sweat so much in my life! Seriously works out every part of my body. I've done Yoga before, but never like this.

I'm on Week 3 of the program now. And I'm already seeing results in my arms, chest, shoulders, and back. I took some "before" pictures (and no, I'm not going to post them here because I think I look horrible in them) and I'm supposed to take pictures at the 30-day, 60-day, and 90-day mark. MAYBE I'll post the 30-day pics... maybe I'll wait until the 60-day. Anyway... I love the program. I just have to keep putting the DVDs in and keep pressing play. 1 hour each day is not a hard committment. (I do cheat and skip the cardio days because I do enough cardio at work) I'll be finishing up my 90 days in the middle of summer... when it's time for the BEACH. So I'm sort of excited to go to the beach this summer and show off my body. It's my motivation to keep going on this program. To have an awesome Beach Body to show off. :P

So wish me luck on this. And hopefully I won't get an injury that will prevent me from continuing with this program. Cuz I was doing so well with my "100 push-ups program" until I got that stupid shoulder injury. NO to injuries. YES to big muscles! hehehe.

Continue to Push Up

I just ended Week 2 of the One Hundred Push Ups Plan. Seriously, I recommend this program to anyone who wants to develop their chest muscles more or just want to be able to do more pushups. If someone told me that I would be doing over 70 push ups in week 2 of the program, I would think they were crazy. Of course, these aren't 70 straight push ups one right after the after. They're in "sets." 15, 15, 12, 12, and 20. (74 in total tonight). But by the end of Week 6, as long as I "pass" each week, I will be able to do 100 push ups without resting. That's just AMAZING! I really can see improvements in my chest area already and I'm excited to track the progress. Now I just need to make sure that I'm working other areas of my upper body as well. Need to work out the shoulders, the back, and the biceps/triceps more.

One Hundred Push-Ups: Week 2

I've made it past Week 1 of the "One Hundred Push-Ups" program and now I'm on day one of Week 2. I'm continuing to be very proud of myself for sticking to this program. In this first day of Week 2, I did less total push-ups than the last day of Week 1, but I had less time in between each set. So it definitely was a challenge to get through all of them, but I did it. And I did an extra 5 at the end too.

I'm beginning to see even more results in my chest. It's definitely more defined than it was two weeks ago and I'm very happy. Now I need to head to the gym more often and work on the arms, shoulders, and back too. I mean, it'll definitely help keep my mind off of J! Two birds with one stone. lol. Maybe when I see even more results, I'll post some before and after photos. It'll be good for myself to track my progress.

I'm also thinking about picking up some sort of outdoor hobby. Trying to decide what I want to do... but I need one because I'm sitting at home doing nothing during the day and that's not good! Any suggestions?

One Hundred Pushups

Another reason I wanted to start a blog was to track my fitness. I'm really going to try and keep up with staying fit. I'm not completely out of shape, but I would like have a better, more fit body. And just stay healthy.

So the first real plan that I'm sticking to is the "one hundred push ups" plan that was recommended to me by a friend from the internet. Basically, you follow a routine of ascending number of push ups throughout 8 weeks, and by the end, you will be able to do 100 consecutive push ups. Sounds pretty cool right? I just started Week 1, and I'm happy to say that I've stayed with it! HAHA. I'm hoping that this blog will motivate me to keep going.
